Slime green nails!

Hey y'all. Today I have for you an experimental nail look that I ended up falling in love with.

I was wearing OPI's "I'm Sooo Swamped!" for a couple days when I decided that I wanted to change it up a bit. I was still in the mood for green nails, but I wanted to add a little something to them. That's when I layered NYX Girls "Sour Lime" over top and BAM! Beautiful.

Here's 2 coats of each:

Look at that! I love itttt. Sour Lime is a polish I love, but it's just far too sheer for me to enjoy on its own. I'm Sooo Swamped! is a great opaque green, so I figured I'd layer the two. I ended up with this acidic radioactive toxic sludge electric green and I think it looks amazing! It's giving me some delightful early 2000s mall goth vibes.

You can see that beneath the OttLite it's incredibly vibrant, but under direct sunlight is where it really shines. You can see that here:

Look at that glow! Here's some more.

Here's a nice close-up.

And then I tried to be artsy by holding one of the leaves on a plant we keep by the kitchen window. I think it's kinda pretty!

Anyway, that's all for now. I figured I'd just show off this pretty polish combo. Until next time...

Valentine’s Day mani!

Hellooooo. I realize it’s been a little while since I posted last, but I’ve been very busy. As such, this post will be pretty brief. I also didn’t really have the energy to take nice pictures, so please excuse the awful photo.

So here is my Valentine’s Day look. I know my fingers look red and terrible - this is partly due to my skin tone, which is just naturally pretty red, as well as the fact that I was previously wearing Essie’s Wicked... stain city!

Anyway. The pink underneath is 2 coats of Essie Ballet Slippers and 2 coats of China Glaze Tropical Tease. Surprisingly it wasn’t too excruciating to pull off - I found out that putting a matte top coat beneath sheerer polishes makes them a little more opaque.

On top of this I put 1 coat of NOPI Love Your Life. Cute as that glitter is, digging the hearts out is just a mess! You almost never get them on your brush without trying. Most of the time, you have to scoop them out with your brush, and the awkward shape of the NOPI bottle just adds to the difficulty. However, I think it was worth it!

Y’all, there is SO much on my nails right now. I’ll give you a rundown:

1 coat OPI Nail Envy
1 coat Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat
2 coats Essie Ballet Slippers
2 coats China Glaze Tropical Tease
1 coat NOPI Love Your Life
1 hefty coat of old, goopy Seche Vite

Yeah... 8 total coats on my nails. It took quite a while and it’s still drying! For whatever reason I’m in a chunky glitter mood. I chose hearts because, duh, Valentine’s Day! But I’m thinking tomorrow I may do a moon and star look with Revlon Celestial FX, my favorite chunky glitter.

I think that’ll do it for today. Happy Valentine’s Day, and until next time...
