Revlon in “Daring Graffiti” over LA Colors in “Circuits”

It’s been a little while since I’ve updated this blog. Over the weekend I somehow acquired 22 new polishes. What can I say? I’ve got some hoarder tendencies.
9  of these came from Buddy’s Small Lots, a great discount store that had a LOT of random nail polishes. Prices were insanely low — I got a sealed bottle of Hard Candy’s “Zombie” for 2 bucks. Obviously you won’t be finding OPI’s newest collection at 1 dollar a pop in a bargain bin, but I have no problem with nail polishes from years past (some research shows that these date back to 2014-15). In this haul I discovered some new brands, such as Nonie Creme, whose formula beats the higher end stuff by a long shot. However, there were some familiar faces - Hard Candy as mentioned before, as well as Revlon and Covergirl (their shade “Wine Stain” is currently on my nails). Not too shabby!
3 more polishes come from 2 different dollar stores - a Dollar Tree and a local place called “1 Dollar Deal”. This included 2 glitters from LA Colors and BSN (my least favorite cheap nail polish brand, but it was such a nice glitter), and the one mentioned in the title, “Circuits”.
In the mail came 10 more nail polishes. This was a random assortment of Milani from Amazon. They pick out the polishes for you and send them out. I will probably talk about a couple of those at some point. The selection I got was pretty decent.
I also have 2 more coming in the mail — Revlon Street Wears! I couldn’t be more excited. I found both of them on eBay for reasonable prices (not a common occurrence), so I had to snatch them up. They’re expected by Friday, so after that I’ll probablt review them both!

Right now, though, I’ve got a lovely combo for you.

LA Colors “Circuits” comes to me courtesy of the dollar store, as mentioned above. For some odd reason I did not have ONE black creme polish in my collection. How dumb, I know. I wanted to get Cirque Colors “Memento Mori” since people seem to like it, but let’s be honest - if I’m spending 12 bucks on a polish, it’s gotta be interesting. This is when  LA Colors came in handy. Of course their polishes are pretty hit-or-miss — it IS the dollar store, after all — but I find myself pretty satisfied with the majority of my polishes from them. So I decided, why not? And let me tell you, I’m not disappointed! One thick coat or two thin ones get the job done. You heard me right - 1 COAT of a dollar store polish!

On top of this I put one coat of my Buddy’s find, “Daring Graffiti” by Revlon. This is a super funky clear base featuring red and white bar, hex, and round glitters of varying sizes. I would say this makes a super festive holiday polish, and it certainly gives off that effect over red, green, or white. Over black, though, it just feels like another glitter. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! I really like this polish. The amount of glitter you get in one coat is astonishing, honestly.

I know my photo is not the best, but hey. You get the point.

Since the last time I posted, my nails got super long and they were gorgeous, until one of them just SNAPPED at the tip! Of course I couldn’t have one tiny nail and the rest long, so I filed them all down. My thumb nail actually started to break, but it was so dangerously low that I couldn’t possibly cut it. I tried the “tea bag and glue” nail repair hack, and honestly it’s working well so far! The only problem is that you can sort of see the tea bag beneath my polish, but if I did a completely opaque color I think I’d be okay.

Anyway, I’m signing off for now. It’s a little sad because I know no one is reading this, and I’m basically just writing to myself, but I’m having fun. Night!
