Covergirl Nailslicks Chocolate Mint

This. Color. RULES! I've been in a sort of weird mood lately and craving unconventional colors as a result, so it was time to dust off my bottle of Chocolate Mint and give it a spin! Though I've had this polish for at least 3 years, I've only used it once before today. Why? I couldn't tell you... it's an extremely funky color that matches nothing else in my collection! While there's a good chance a modern indie equivalent exists somewhere, the fact that this is from the 90s makes it that much cooler for how cutting-edge it would have been. I love a good time capsule! 

Chocolate Mint is a very aptly named dark brown with teal shimmer. While the shimmer is not nearly as blinding as in this photo, it is apparent even in low light. The formula on this is unfortunately poor; it somehow manages to be both thin and gummy, making for an exercise in patience. It gets mighty close to a perfect finish in 3 coats, but if you can't tolerate a little patchiness, you may want to add a fourth. I'd say these annoyances are more than worth it, though... I mean, just LOOK at it!
