Hello everyone! So, today I'll be straying from my typical type of polish. I feel like I gravitate towards drugstore polishes for a variety of reasons. They're typically cheaper, easier to access, and I can easily find nice creme/shimmer/glitter polishes. But that doesn't mean I haven't dipped my toes into indie polishes too!
F.U.N Lacquer is one of the more widely-known indie brands due to its exposure from popular nail bloggers like SimplyNailogical, as well as their beautiful and unique colors. Of the 3 F.U.N polishes that I have, the formula is really great too.
Today I have "Evening Gown", which is a
gorgeous dark purple linear holographic polish. I was never a big fan of holo until I discovered this beautiful baby. Seriously, I can't stress how much I love this. I've had it for 2-ish months now and I've probably used 1/3 of the bottle (I will touch upon this later). Just take a look at 2 coats of this!
I made the photos larger than I usually would so that the holo detail is visible. Seriously, how pretty is that? Let's see it with the flash on.
Ugh! Gorgeous. It's unfortunate that I can't really capture the level of holo this is. Underneath the OttLite it's INSANE. Magical rainbow fairy dust! As you can tell, I'm getting really excited over this. But trust me, you would be too. The rainbows are a lot more visible in the bottle than on the nails in these pictures, as seen below.
Speaking of the bottle... it's kinda small. You get 0.4 fl. oz. of polish in there, as opposed to the usual 0.45 or 0.5. That little fraction of an ounce doesn't really seem like a lot, but when you paint your nails as often as I do... it becomes apparent. But that's really my only complaint with this polish and brand in general. Even though F.U.N Lacquer is based in Singapore, I got the polishes within 5 days (and I'm in the US, if that wasn't already clear). If you order 3 or more polishes, then you quality for free expedited international shipping (excluding Europe and Canada, where it's 4 polishes instead).
